這張原來訂在9月21日推出的唱片，因臺風和一首歌的錄制問題延遲到10月12日才正式發(fā)行。比起以往的作品，陳曉東在《我要的只是愛》中明顯地成熟了不少，不但參與選曲到制作的全過程，更在林夕的鼓勵下創(chuàng)作了兩首歌詞，還在每首歌后面親自寫下演唱的感想和心得，希望與歌迷分享自己對于音樂的新想法。
