「最悪だと思いました。だからこのアルバムができました」── これが、YOSHIKAが新しい作品を作ろうと思った動機だという。

m-floの 10周年アニバーサリーライヴにて、集まった約22,000人（2日間合計）のm-floファンの前で久しぶりに名曲「let go」を聴かせてくれたYOSHIKA。ひとりの女性R&Bシンガー女性から、守るべきものが生まれ、母となった彼女が、“生命”というものに向きあって生まれたのが、2010年1月13日にCDリリース、12月16日よりiTunesで先行配信されるアルバム『REDWOOD TREE』だ。
