本片講述的故事發(fā)生在1753年，卡薩諾瓦(希斯·羅杰飾)是70年代歐洲著名的風(fēng)流才子，他為人風(fēng)趣又博學(xué)多聞 ，是當(dāng)時(shí)最風(fēng)流倜儻的萬人迷。據(jù)說女人只要見到他，總是會(huì)被他吸引，因此他也從來不把女人放在心上。一天，在一片由卡薩諾瓦導(dǎo)致的混亂中，他與女扮男裝的女主角弗朗西絲卡(西耶娜·米勒飾)不打不相識(shí)。弗朗西絲卡雖然不是卡薩諾瓦認(rèn)識(shí)的最美麗的女孩，但她像男人一樣有自己的抱負(fù)，甚至連劍術(shù)也絲毫不比卡薩諾瓦遜色，并且一直為維護(hù)女人應(yīng)有的權(quán)利不停地努力。在與弗朗西絲卡的接觸中，卡薩諾瓦漸漸地改變了對(duì)女人的看法，他發(fā)現(xiàn)自己竟然墮入了情網(wǎng)。然而弗朗西斯卡可不是卡薩諾瓦曾經(jīng)征服過的那些普通女孩，如何能使這樣的女孩愛上自己，難倒了戰(zhàn)無不勝的風(fēng)流浪子卡薩諾瓦。在對(duì)弗朗西絲卡這段充滿偽裝，決斗，謊言，欲望甚至生命危險(xiǎn)的追逐過程中，卡薩諾瓦慢慢發(fā)現(xiàn)了簡(jiǎn)單的征服欲和真正的愛情之間的區(qū)別。
