電視原聲 - Small Island(小島嶼)

這部兩集共3小時長的電視劇是根據(jù) Andrea Levy 的獲獎小說改編，講述二戰(zhàn)前后牙買加移民在英國的遭遇，情節(jié)劇的戲劇化與1940年代黑人移民在英國遭受歧視的冰冷現(xiàn)實(shí)結(jié)合起來。在牙買加的藍(lán)天和閃電與英格蘭的陰郁潮濕的對照之下，一切對1940年代的溫馨懷舊的企圖完全消失了。
電視劇中的兩個愛情故事，一個迅猛，一個慢熱，幾位演員，其中包括英國女演員Ruth Wilson，給幾個角色的性格帶來了立體感，幾乎每個角色在帶有性格的缺陷或是執(zhí)拗的夢想，同時都有令人同情或是贊嘆之處。圍繞著移民和種族歧視的主題，有些是作為移民者才有的強(qiáng)烈的認(rèn)同和排斥交織的感覺：從小受英國式教育的牙買加人，對英國的了解，和對英國氣質(zhì)的模仿，比在兩次大戰(zhàn)中被折磨得精疲力竭的英國人強(qiáng)得多。有時候移民對本地人更像本地人，對移居國“民族精神”的認(rèn)同與執(zhí)著，往往卻在本地人的行為中找到反面例子。
劇中對移民和本地人的關(guān)系，亦不乏具有喜劇性的觀察：初到倫敦的牙買加姑娘 Hortense的矜持作派和端莊舉止，與地道英國人 Queenie 的隨意的舉止和直接的談吐，形成奇特的反差。
