Battle of the Year，即通常所稱的BOTY，是一個(gè)始于1990年的一年一度的全球性breaking街舞系列賽。這是一個(gè)團(tuán)體（相對(duì)個(gè)人來(lái)說(shuō)）賽事。地區(qū)資格賽——相當(dāng)于預(yù)賽——在世界范圍內(nèi)舉行，各區(qū)勝者將會(huì)參加于德國(guó)布倫瑞克的大眾汽車(chē)大廳里舉行的終極對(duì)決。Battle of the Year被認(rèn)為是世界上最早的breaking賽事，也常常被當(dāng)做是breaking界的世界杯。Battle of the Year創(chuàng)造了“底層的全球化空間，讓人們聚在一起穿越了地理，語(yǔ)言，競(jìng)技的障礙”。Benson Lee曾拍攝過(guò)一部紀(jì)錄片《B-Boy星球》（《Planet B-Boy》），讓人們看到了參加Battle of the Year的是怎樣的一群人�！癇OTY越來(lái)越國(guó)際化，這意味著它越來(lái)越受歡迎。這也令比賽地點(diǎn)的資格要求變高，使每年BOTY參賽團(tuán)隊(duì)中出現(xiàn)了更多的關(guān)鍵人物。他們的目標(biāo)之一就是凝聚那些有積極性的年輕人們。這是很有必要的，因?yàn)橄脒_(dá)到所有的要求已變得越來(lái)越難�！�2010年全球總決賽將在法國(guó)蒙彼利埃競(jìng)技場(chǎng)舉行。
