電影原聲 - The Suspended Step of the Stork(鸛鳥踟躇)

故事發(fā)生在希臘邊境，有人說它是一部關(guān)于世紀(jì)末的絕望的電影。它關(guān)注的是在東歐共產(chǎn)主義沒落和蘇聯(lián)解體后，當(dāng)代的邊境、難民和變遷的問題。
一位政治家離開議會從家里出走，消失得無影無蹤。新聞工作者Gregory Karr正在報(bào)導(dǎo)停留在邊境的移民和難民的情況，他在人群中碰到一個人非常像那個失蹤的政治家。他還找到了一個被作為國境線的河流一分為二的小鎮(zhèn)，看到一場超現(xiàn)實(shí)的婚禮，新娘和家人在河的這邊，新郎和親友在河的那邊。那個人的身份一直沒有確定，而那些不幸的難民以及被分割的村莊使Karr理解了他對人情世故的絕望。

Eleni Karaindrou生于希臘中部山區(qū)的一個小村莊Teichio，在雅典長大并在Hellenikon Odion學(xué)習(xí)鋼琴與音樂的理論。1969年到1974年間，她在巴黎學(xué)習(xí)民族音樂學(xué)，并在學(xué)成返國后成立了傳統(tǒng)樂器實(shí)驗(yàn)室 (the Laboratory for Traditional Instruments)。Eleni一直對希臘音樂有著無比的熱情與支持。她為很多的電影、戲劇編寫配樂。從1982年起，Eleni開始為Theo Angelopoulos的電影譜寫配樂。

除了傳說中發(fā)明笛子的半人半羊的希神“潘”和六十年代現(xiàn)代主義作曲家Iannis Xenakis外，希臘真正提供給世界的杰出音樂家寥寥無幾——盡管有Vangelis這樣的電子先鋒及一大批走紅于國際舞臺的New Age音樂家，在希臘人的眼里，卻是卡蘭卓將他們的祖國重新放回到世界音樂的版圖中。在50多歲的時(shí)候，卡蘭卓就已經(jīng)被她的同胞們稱為“第十繆斯”（'Tenth Muse'）。她的音樂植根于希臘的傳統(tǒng)但卻不拘泥于形式，借鑒了民謠、爵士和古典音樂，用希臘民間樂器和各種現(xiàn)代管弦樂器融合出一種獨(dú)特的古老而近乎神秘的聲音，但其精神卻是現(xiàn)代主義的。
