Iyaz 在維京群島的Tortola島上出生長大，出身音樂家庭的他本來是把音樂當作愛好，只在MySpace上展示了自己的一些作品，沒想到他的網(wǎng)頁恰好被美國人氣歌星Sean Kingston看到。之后Sean Kingston給Iyaz寫了好幾封郵件卻都沒見他回復，因為Iyaz根本不敢相信真的是大名鼎鼎的Sean Kingston從美國給他寫信要求見面簽約。

　　

好事多磨，在Iyaz終于回信給Sean Kingston之后，他隨即被介紹簽約華納旗下的唱片公司，之后馬上推出的首張單曲 “Replay” 就在美國Billboard流行單曲榜拿到了第一名的優(yōu)秀成績。之后Iyaz正式進軍英國，事實證明他在美國引起的轟動也已經(jīng)波及英國，”Replay” 直接入榜UK Chart No.1。
