蔡一智、蔡一杰和蘇志威三人組成的草蜢，雖然在新秀歌唱比賽中落敗，卻獲梅艷芳賞識(shí)，邀作其當(dāng)作演出時(shí)的舞伴。在草蜢漸具知名度后便作獨(dú)立發(fā)展，以勁歌熱舞在流行樂(lè)壇中另辟蹊徑，終能獨(dú)當(dāng)一面。早期的優(yōu)秀作品數(shù)不勝數(shù)。此外，蔡一智和蔡一杰亦時(shí)有參與曲詞的創(chuàng)作，其中cnzcjie所提到非常優(yōu)美的《深淵》正是蔡一智作曲，所以草蜢亦可算是個(gè)創(chuàng)作型組合，而他們也是少數(shù)幾只由80年代到90年代仍屹立不倒的樂(lè)隊(duì)組合之一
