《天堂電影院》的導(dǎo)演是擅長將意大利新寫實(shí)主義加以浪漫化新包裝的吉賽貝．托納多雷（Giuseppe Tornatore），本片是他奪得“戛納影展評審團(tuán)特別大獎(jiǎng)”、“金球獎(jiǎng)最佳外語片”、“奧斯卡最佳外語片”等多項(xiàng)大獎(jiǎng)的代表作，可謂成績斐然。本片以意大利西西里島詹卡多村莊中一家電影院為故事舞臺，描述小孩子多多與“天堂電影院”的放映師艾費(fèi)多發(fā)展出來橫跨數(shù)十年的一段忘年之交的感情，并旁及意大利人民對電影態(tài)度的感情變化，最后“天堂電影院”要拆卸了，大家回到小鎮(zhèn)來給它送終。本片堪稱是一封由影迷所寫的“情書”，曾廣泛引起全球電影愛好者的共鳴，今年更推出加長了40分鐘的導(dǎo)演完整版重新推出上映，再版發(fā)行的原聲帶也由16首增加為17首。在這里更是收入了著名男高音Josh Groban為其配唱的主題歌曲！
