Frontiere anchors with vivid early Hollywood "Film Caravan" theme, then balances with bittersweet love theme in versions both instrumental, vocal (Dusty Springfield). AN UNMARRIED WOMAN is also Oscar-nominated film, scored by Bill Conti, directed by Paul Mazursky, starring Jill Clayburgh, Alan Bates. Conti writes melodic music with abundance of trumpet, moderate jazz tempo pieces, romantic cues then winds with dynamic full statement of main theme in rich finale ("Erica Leaves Saul").
